Isn't that the way things always play out? Hope you're not planning to go there anytime soon.
Having to pay yet again for what one decides to keep is how things sometime play out.
And yes that final debt comes with the game. It just comes as a surprise having to pay our way there. Like the coin for Charon and the Hemlock for Socrates, nearly everything dear costs.
